MEET THE TEAM

Karen has had a varied and well-travelled life, taking in the continent of Europe and South Africa.   Qualified in accounting, law and teaching she arrived in the Charente in 2003 with Andrew and their two children where they bought their home and renovation project.   Initially working alongside Andrew building up their renovation business, Karen then focussed on setting up Solutions, a hand-holding service for anglophones who required help with French administration or French language.  She also runs courses for small businesses to teach them how to correctly record their accounting information according to French law.

The business has since expanded and now includes a number of skilled and trained Associates who assist with the workload.

Andrew was born in London where he completed an apprenticeship at age of 15 with Bovis Homes.  He has worked in the building industry in the UK and France for over 40 years.  He has lived in the Charente with his family since 2003 and set up his business in 2004. Andrew also spent several years in the REME where his carpentry and welding skills were used for fitting out boats.

Andrew has worked on all types of buildings including the Gridshell at Weald and Downland Museum, the restoration of Uppark House after a fire,  and various listed buildings in both the UK and France.  He was featured in the Nouvelle Republique after restoring a protestant chapel in Chef Boutonne.  The skills he has honed over the years have been perfect for the repair, maintenance and restoration of French homes.

 In order to meet ever increasing demand, Solutions  has a number of Associates working with them to assist with the workload that comes from receiving in excess of 12000 emails a year!

Our Associates are multi-lingual and have specific areas of French administration that they specialise in.  

We also have a UK-qualified chartered accountant, living in France, for our clients that require UK tax returns and limited company accounts completed.
